Renovation and Extension of a Typical One-Storey House in the Nansouty District of Bordeaux

A young couple has recently welcomed a newborn and required additional space to accommodate their growing family. The main goal was to design an open area that flows smoothly into the garden. To achieve this, a central structure was created for multiple purposes, such as the entrance, bathroom, study, staircase, and kitchen. This main volume divides the living space and makes room for different areas that cater to the family's daily routine.

The design includes a triangular extension, which serves as a terrace for the bedrooms on the upper floor. Additionally, the roof has been extended to meet the local town planning regulations. Although the facade facing the street remains unchanged, the front of the new living space has been completely opened to maximise the surrounding greenery and garden use.
