Complete Renovation of a Pessac Detached House
The owners wanted to give their 1970s house a new lease of life. The house was completely insulated, and the interior was restructured to redistribute all the rooms. For instance, the garage was transformed into a kitchen. Brown is the predominant colour of this single-storey house, with old tiles, wooden ceilings, and exposed beams. The window frames are also period, made of dark wood.<br />

The objective was to update and enliven the interior of the house. To accomplish this, white was used to refresh the old house's character. Modern materials, such as black aluminium for the door and window frames, were used to revitalise the interior. The exposed ceiling structure, also repainted in white, gives rhythm to the space, defining a fluid sequence of uses in the large, bright living room. The floors are now covered in oak parquet, and the bathroom tiles have been replaced with more contemporary ones.<br />

The house's exterior has been renovated while maintaining its original style. The columns and brick walls have been preserved and improved upon. The project aims to open the interior spaces towards the garden as much as possible while integrating the new architectural design with the existing house.<br />

White now dominates the colour scheme, creating a brighter, modern aesthetic.<br />
