Dressing-room
Dressing room : a room dedicated to storage and comfort
A dressing room is an optimised storage space designed to hold clothes, shoes and accessories in an organised way. It can take the form of a built-in piece of furniture, a shelf in a bedroom, or a room in its own right, depending on the layout of the home. In architectural terms, a dressing room is much more than just a cupboard: it's an element of comfort and fluidity in interior design.
The different types of dressing room
A dressing room can be integrated into different spaces :
Open dressing room : without doors, practical for quick access, often installed in a master suite.
Enclosed dressing room : with hinged or sliding doors, to protect the contents from dust.
U-shaped, L-shaped or linear wardrobes : depending on the space available, the modules can be adapted for ergonomic storage.
In the interior design projects carried out by the ERHÉ agency, the dressing room is tailor-made, in line with the lifestyle of the occupants and the aesthetics of the location, as in this extension project in La Teste-de-Buch.
Why integrate a dressing room into an architectural project ?
Designing a dressing room at the planning stage makes it possible to :
The dressing room can also be used as a transitional space between bedroom and bathroom, or between two living areas.
Materials and finishes
The choice of materials (wood, laminate, metal) and finishes (wardrobes, shelves, drawers, integrated LED lighting) plays a key role in comfort of use and integration into the overall project. At ERHÉ, each walk-in wardrobe is designed to combine functionality, aesthetics and durability, while blending harmoniously into the overall architecture.
