Extension of an Arcachon House

The owners wished to expand their dining area in their Arcachon home, nestled in a woodsy area. We suggested an extension supported by three structural elements, each with its unique purpose: cube, cylinder, and triangle.

The first is a cube that straddles the boundary between inside and outside. It has a library on one side and a barbecue on the other. The second is an outdoor post that opens up the view of the garden, blending seamlessly into the vertical rhythm of the pine trees. The last structure is a triangle that cuts into the glass surface, creating an intimate space protected from the outside world.

Surrounded by bay windows, this extension immerses the remodelled dining room in nature, providing a comfortable indoor-outdoor experience.
