Conversion of an Old Workshop into Extra Accommodation
This abandoned workshop is located at the far end of a garden in Arcachon. The owner wanted to turn it into additional accommodation for visiting family and friends.
With its minimalist volumes, the project extends outwards to include a terrace for relaxing amidst a serene pine forest.
The outbuilding boasts a functional inhabited wall with a kitchen, door, cupboard, and sliding divider separating the night area from the living space. The latter opens onto a garden with its large bay window, while the roof windows offer a glimpse of the sky. The wooden cladding, typical of the Arcachon region, combines contemporary materials like steel roofing and coloured joinery to create a unique look.
