Construction of a Collective Housing Project – 1274 m2
Located between Mimizan town centre and the FP Bois family business site, our architectural project is spread over a plot of land divided into three distinct areas:
- a residential area (1,200 m2 ground floor + 1 floor) with 16 two-bedroom flats,
- a green area
- an industrial zone reserved for FP Bois.
The shape of the building housing the collective dwellings is atypical, as it follows the shape of the plot in order to maximise the site's potential.
The project, designed as a green island, fits organically into the green corridor imagined by the municipality, which meanders along the nearby stream. It wraps around a park, a place for social interaction and encounters. The facades of the homes, made of green-stained half-timbering, are imbued with the local architectural language.
Each flat has been designed with a view through to the surrounding countryside, creating a symbiotic relationship between the building and the landscape. The ground floors open onto individual gardens, while the upper floors enjoy exclusive access via external staircases and balconies, inviting residents to take full advantage of the natural setting.
A covered building, carefully positioned in the parking area, houses the residents' communal spaces. This multifunctional space includes a technical room, bicycle parking, a communal laundry room and a bin room, ensuring that community life is well organised.
The single-sloped building, dominating the dwellings, follows the trajectory of the project as a whole, the upward slope symbolising the ascent towards the imposing industrial structures of FP Bois. This thoughtful design embodies our commitment to innovative, sustainable architecture that is integrated into its environment.
