What a design office does ?

An architectural design office plays an important role in the design, planning and implementation of construction and renovation projects. In short, it is responsible for the technical design of the project. Here are the main functions of an architectural design office :
  • Technical design : providing technical expertise to turn architectural visions into reality, by developing appropriate structural, thermal, acoustic and lighting solutions.
  • Analysis and feasibility studies : they carry out preliminary studies to assess the technical, environmental and economic viability of projects, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Project optimisation : proposing improvements to make buildings more energy-efficient, comfortable and sustainable, thereby helping to reduce operating costs and environmental impact.
  • Compliance with standards and regulations : ensuring that projects comply with current building standards, including safety regulations, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, and environmental standards.
  • Project coordination and monitoring : coordinating the work of the various parties involved (architects, engineers, contractors, etc.) and ensuring the technical monitoring of the project, from design to delivery, guaranteeing that it is completed on time and on budget.
  • Technical documentation : prepares all the necessary technical documentation, such as detail drawings, material specifications and estimates, which are essential for implementing the project.
At ERHÉ Architecture, we are used to working with design offices that we can advise.
