The collective housing

Collective housing is a building designed to accommodate several families or groups of individuals in separate flats or living units. ERHÉ Architecture has designed a number of them, always with the aim of promoting the well-being and social cohesion of the residents. This is achieved by creating communal areas, as here in Libourne, where the inner courtyard becomes a place for socialising (project | 071).

The development of green spaces is an important part of the design of collective housing. These natural spaces are both a place to meet and a place to grow your own vegetable garden in complete privacy, and to enjoy the sunshine on sunny days. This idea is reflected in this project based in Saint Jean d'Illac, where the gardens are designed as both private and shared spaces (project | 021).

The design of a collective dwelling aims to optimise space, natural lighting and ventilation while ensuring the privacy of each individual. This type of housing plays a key role in managing urban density, offering a sustainable and accessible housing solution in densely populated areas. This is the case in Pessac, where we have designed this collective housing in a residential area (project | 64)
